I have served as an Events Committee member for the Harvard Club of Virginia and engaged with fellow Harvard alumni for social and educational events that were inclusive to the local community. I would like to expand this experience to the Harvard community as an HEAA Board of Director in order to oversee all aspects of event planning that would strengthen the future of alumni involvement with the Extension School and provide opportunities to grow as professional learners in an environment conducive to partnering with other alumni representing other schools of Harvard.
I matriculated with a Certificate in Management from Harvard Extension in 2008 and have served since as a Volunteer for GlobalWE, empowering women across Harvard and the world through online events, such as the recent successful Expo which highlighted women-run organizations. For the larger Harvard Extension alumni community I envision the planning and coordination of online events spanning the themes that interest our members. Live events hosted in Cambridge and other cities would provide opportunities to network and host speakers. Reunions and events for fundraising, scholarship, and philanthropy outside of regular events would take place over the term of my involvement.
I welcome the needs and special interests of Extension alumni in order to plan events that cater to our community. I hope you will give me the chance to serve as a Board member and look forward to serving you and the Extension School.
