Allison Ullrich.

Allison Ullrich ALM ’22 is an experienced, transformative executive who mentors individuals and guides international Supply Chain and Operations teams to scale, collaborate and effectively communicate while empowering and embracing cultural differences to unlock professional milestones and personal development. Additionally, she is an HEAA Board member in her first term.

We spoke to Allison about what inspires her, what impact she hopes to have as a Director of the HEAA Board of Directors and more!

As a Director of the HEAA Board of Directors what do you hope to accomplish during your tenure?

I am excited to collaborate with and learn from my peers who are serving with tenure in their board roles. This will allow me to improve my execution and communication skills in the realm of serving and navigating board experiences. Doing so will allow me to adapt and grow while also providing my perspectives and efforts to our objectives and continuing to maintain my personal commitment to representing the alumni community as we successfully complete projects that have an everlasting impact to HEAA and HES.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering for this role?

Thus far, I have valued experiencing, reviewing and thoughtfully debating shared ideas so we can prioritize as a team those which provide the greatest impact to the community while determining the objectives that require more effort and time so we can balance execution and future planning. This allows us to understand what we can address now, what we need to revisit in the future and what we to hand off to future board members to consider.

What impact do you hope to have on the HEAA community?

I want to do my best to listen to my fellow alumni to understand their priorities, ideas, challenges and passions that we can best represent which embody not only the HEAA community but current HES students so they continue their institutional involvement and investment. We are only as strong and successful as our most passionate alumni who feel comfortable that they are heard and represented. Empowering others to own and drive the excitement is what we need to support.

What opportunities did your HES Degree unlock for you in your professional and personal life?

Adding this degree reminds me daily of how thankful I am to have access to higher education opportunities while enhancing my experiences prior to starting and completing the program. It offers me deeper levels of confidence and leadership while igniting a greater awareness for utilization of EQ over IQ to navigate complex business and organizational nuances.

What does it mean to you to “give back” and “serve” and what kind of work have you done in your career that reflects this?

As I have continually taken on greater responsibilities in leadership, I have found myself leading more with serving others than growing the self. I am passionate about selecting key volunteering, mentoring and board engagements that welcome the application and expansion of my critical and strategic thinking while in parallel sharing and applying these experiences and resources to support relentless individuals who seek out feedback and challenge for personal development. I would not be where I am if it were not for others guiding and believing in me earlier in my career. It gives me great excitement to encourage others to scale their skills and attitudes to unlock future opportunities for authentic, personal ownership and development.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a month free of responsibilities where would it be and what would you do there?

Similar to my prior response on giving back, I would enjoy the experience to provide humanitarian aid for those in greater need of basic resources in times of conflict or disaster so they can survive and recover to gain control over their future.
