Three (3) Director positions are open for the 2024 election.
Directors serve and represent the alumni body by leading projects that execute a multi-year strategy. They will work with the Office of Advancement staff to develop strong and lasting relationships with HEAA alumni through engagement opportunities and foster a culture of lifetime learning and support for Harvard Extension School.
Each Director will be required to serve on one or more board committees, including: Awards, Development, Global Engagement, Lifetime Learning & Career Development, Marketing & Events, and Nominating & Governance. During the academic year, Directors will be expected to attend monthly board meetings, as well as any committee meetings. They should understand the HEAA mission and provide oversight to ensure that its programs are run effectively.
Directors should be accomplished in an academic or professional domain important to the HEAA. They come from diverse backgrounds that enrich the association and they also have experience in one of more areas of volunteering or direct board oversight, namely marketing & events management, development, engagement, board governance, etc. Demonstration of leadership and consensus-building skills and a commitment to investing the time and energy necessary for effective service will also be of great import.
