Have your story added to the Harvard University Archives

There are, unsurprisingly, not enough first-hand accounts in the Harvard University Archives of the experiences of DCE alums. This project’s goal is to record oral histories with some of these degree holders to rectify that archival silence. All interviews will be done by current Harvard Extension School students; they’ll be recorded, transcribed, printed out on archival cotton paper, and delivered to the Harvard University Archives as part of the permanent records of the institution. Not everyone who signs up will be able to be interviewed in 2023, but this will be an on-going project of DCE.

Interested in recording an oral history about your experience in Extension for the Harvard Archives? Dr. Zachary Nowak, a current Lecturer in the Harvard Extension School, is looking for Extension degree holders to record their oral histories. Current Harvard Extension students in Dr. Nowak’s Fall 2023 course, HIST E-1636: Introduction to Harvard History, will record an oral history with an alum, transcribe it, and deposit a copy printed on archival cotton paper in the Harvard University Archives.
