Quinn Simpson
CEO & Co-President, International Healthcare Enrichment and Learning Project (iHelp)
B.S. Biological Sciences, OUWBSOM, Royal Oak, MI.
Quinn Simpson was born and raised in Alaska, I left home to pursue Tae Kwon Do training in Miami under Olympic coach Juan Moreno, and it was during my undergraduate years at Florida International University (FIU) that I discovered my passion for healthcare and global health through outreach trips to Colombia. Collaborating with William Trevino, I helped expand his student-run program, Medical Missions Abroad (MMA), until COVID-19 halted our efforts, prompting my return to Alaska. Back home, I gained insights into global health and nonprofit management at Alaska Medical Missions (AMM), while also serving as a medical technologist and volunteer firefighter/EMS provider. Inspired by these experiences, I co-founded iHelp, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing global health disparities. Throughout medical school at Oakland University William Beaumont SOM, I’ve worked to integrate my education into refining iHelp and plan to pursue Emergency Medicine followed by a Wilderness Medicine fellowship upon graduation in 2025, aiming to provide quality care in resource-limited settings worldwide.
