Degree candidates admitted between August 2024 and June 2025 are invited to HES Convocation on September 26, 2025.
Degree candidates admitted between August 2025 and June 2026 will be invited to HES Convocation 2026 — a formal invitation will be emailed in July 2026.
Is There a Fee to Attend HES Convocation?
This is a free event, but registration is required.

Please note: Same-day lanyard pick-up will be available at Memorial Church.
Can I Bring Guest(s) to HES Convocation?
Unfortunately, guests are not permitted. In order to accommodate as many HES degree candidates as possible within our seating capacity, only degree candidates may participate in Convocation events. All registered degree candidates will need to wear a lanyard to enter HES Convocation events. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to welcome as many degree candidates as possible to this significant celebration.
Is Parking Available?
Parking near Harvard Square is very limited. Harvard University offers both daily and hourly parking options, which you can explore and purchase here. However, we strongly recommend using public transportation when possible. See more information about public transportation, maps & directions.
Is There a Dress Code?
Business casual attire is recommended.
Will the HES Convocation Ceremony be Live-Streamed?
Yes, the ceremony will be live-streamed. The live-stream link will be emailed the week of Convocation, and the link to the recording will be emailed in the following weeks.
I Cannot Attend My Convocation; Can I Postpone My Attendance to Next Year?
Due to high matriculation, HES degree candidates receive one (1) invitation to HES Convocation. We are unable to accommodate attendance in future years. We appreciate your understanding.
Do You Have Hotel Accommodations/Recommendations?
Unfortunately, we do not have hotel room blocks or can offer discounts on lodging accommodations. There are several options in the area. We recommend that you visit HarvardSquare.com for a list.
